Introduction to my project
Cytoscape is an open source software platform for visualizing molecular interaction networks and biological pathways. It integrates these networks with annotations, gene expression profiles and other state data. Visualizing a complex network requires a great deal of calculations, thus takes a long time to render large networks with original software-based engine. This project aims to replace the original Cytoscape-2D engine with one taking advantage of high speed GPU calculation and delivering much better efficiency.
